My daughter goes to a public elementary school. Recently, one of the parents in our class discovered that a fellow parent, the father of a girl in my daughter’s class, was arrested in an undercover police operation for soliciting an underage female prostitute. Details of the undercover operation were posted online. He agreed to pay for sex with the underage prostitute, who would come to his house while his young children were asleep and his wife was away at work. He confessed to the crime but is not on the county’s searchable online database of sex offenders. While the principal of our school was alerted by another parent and met with the man and his wife (they are still married), information was not passed on to other parents because he is considered at low risk to reoffend. He does not volunteer at the school, at the request of the principal. …
Our daughter won’t be allowed to go over to their house under any circumstances, but we would welcome his daughter over to our house. The dilemma is whether to tell other parents so that they can make an informed choice about whether to allow their kids to play at this man’s house. Full Letter
1. The details should not have been posted online.
2. How old was the prostitute? Underage as in under eighteen, seventeen, sixteen?
3. What is the age of consent in the state where this occurred?
4. How did he find an underage prostitute and why?
5. Since he is unlisted I am guessing the prostitute was pubescent which means this man has little or no interest in sexual activity with a prepubescent person meaning elementary school age kids are not at risk.
6. Also it was a prostitute which while being underage is tragic at least signifies that the guy was not preying on some underage person who wasn’t selling sex.
7. Wait…so the police actually employed an underage prostitute or was it an undercover officer acting underage? Secondly if she was really underage was this man the only one they went after or did her “employer” and other “customers” get caught too. Third what if she was a free agent working alone selling herself to keep herself completely off the street through sex? Granted not a good situation, but too many unknowns remain regarding the prostitute and her circumstances for me to proclaim the guy in the case was any sort of sexual predator. Yes cheating on his wife is an issue of concern here, but that doesn’t mean deviant sexual behavior or motivation was involved despite the possible inclusion of a minor.
why is there a lot of under age tutes in that place ,? people might try to teach there kids about the dos and don’t’ , and make them self safe in that manner , or maybe get to know who your talking about with a open mind , was there really a kid ? did he really beleave she was under age ? did he see a picture of a real kid ? or some one that looked young ? I really don’t know , I was not there , these cops (Sometimes)seem kind of like a person that stands outside AA or NA meeting and offer booze or drugs , I would ask many things before I would just go out and start running my mouth , you can get people killed , and that matters , he has kids do want her or his wife cot by a maybe not so stray bullet ? if so , then what if it was your ole man, father or mother , just don’t want to see Anyone hurt !
At least the reply is level headed
